For Korean beauty and fragrance brands

Indonesia is three lines, not one, and they run side by side.

Selling in Indonesia means a BPOM notification that only an Indonesian company can file, a halal track whose deadline moved to October 2028 this month, and an import approval your importer applies for. They run in parallel and none replaces another. Jalan shows which stations your plan has to pass, prices the notification for your range, and counts down the halal date. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is sent or kept.

The three lines

  1. BPOMNotification by an Indonesian importer
  2. BPJPHHalal certificate, or a non-halal statement
  3. SKIImport approval for each shipment
  1. You cannot notify your own product.

BPOM accepts a notification only from an Indonesian cosmetics maker, a company that contracts one, or an Indonesian importer. A Korean brand needs that importer first, and gives it an agency letter with seven set items and at least six months left to run.

BPOM notification FAQ, read 30 Oct 2026

  2. The halal date moved to 17 October 2028.

Days before the old October 2026 deadline, Indonesia extended the phase-in for cosmetics by two years. The duty stands: certify, register a recognised foreign certificate, or label the product non-halal.

BPJPH on PP 40/2026, read 30 Oct 2026

  3. Every shade is billed.

The fee is per item, and each colour of a lipstick series is its own item. Extra pack sizes of one product are not. For a Korean-made range that is Rp 1.5 million a shade, again every three years.

Where this stops

Jalan covers who files what, the fees and the dates. It does not check ingredients against Indonesia’s annexes, write your Indonesian label, assess claims or advertising, or say whether a product is halal. Those need the formula and a person who reads it.
